I recently stayed at this hotel. When I travel to New York (which I do often) this will be the hotel I will be booking. This hotel was exceptional. Even though it’s extremely affordable, it is hands down one of the best places to stay in New York City.
The rooms were clean, spacious, quiet and I had an amazing view of the Empire State Building.
This hotel was located centrally, near the largest flagship Macys, a block away from the Subway, a quick Subway ride to everywhere in the city, easily.
Depending on the dates you choose, you may get this hotel under $100 a night!
Best Western Premier has perfect reviews, great restaurants, central to everything to do in the city. This NYC hotel is a steal for tourism, business and one of the best hotels to stay in New York City for a family!
Afforadable Hotels In NYC-NoMad and Soho
Arlo Hotel-NoMad, the winner of the Travel & Leisure 2020 World’s Best Award and several other travel awards, is a great choice for an affordable hotel in New York City. Arlo-Nomad has beautifully designed rooms, awe-inspiring communal spaces, complimentary bikes to explore the city, and amazing rooftop fitness classes in the summer!
This stunning hotel is located in Murray Hill by Madison Square Park. Additionally a short jaunt to Empire State Building.

The Best Places to Stay in New York City-Upper East Side
I’m not so sure that budget and Upper East Side can be in the same sentence, wink, wink. Let’s try, though, to find affordable hotels in NYC on the Upper East Side. The Upper East Side is beautiful. Tons of restaurants, some of the best food in New York City. Hotels are hard to come by; the Upper East Side is mainly residential.
Courtyard Marriott-Upper East Side is my pick for a budget hotel in the Upper East Side of New York. I always love Marriott. I suggest signing up for their rewards program, Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott Hotels are always clean and consistent no matter what city or town you travel to. Within walking distance of my favorite museum, The Met. There is shopping at Bloomingdales, Dylan’s Candy Bar for some sweet treats, and the tram to Governors Island.
Upper West Side
The Upper West Side is quiet, quaint with great NYC food and great bars. Like the Upper East Side, the Upper West Side is mainly residential. The Museum of Natural History is on the Upper West Side and is a great place to visit with kids.
The Upper West Side Manhattan actually has a lot of affordable hotel options for NYC. Arthouse Hotel is a short walk to the Museum of Natural History and Central Park and many eateries and pubs. Columbia University is a short subway ride.
The Best Places to Stay in New York City-Midtown West
I will suggest a budget-friendly hotel in New York City in Midtown West instead of hotels directly in Times Square. I am not a fan of staying in Times Square nor suggest it. Visit Times Square but try not to stay in a hotel there.
Four Points has an awesome hotel in Midtown West located in the heart of Manhattan. Walking distance of so many things to do in NYC. Including the Hudson Yards, Chelsea, the West Village, shopping, Broadway, the Summit at One Vanderbilt. Also, close enough to Times Square 😉 This hotel is easily accessible to all the main attractions NYC has to offer.
Affordable Hotels NYC Downtown
Lower Manhattan/downtown has so much to offer. Stroll the brownstone-lined streets of Greenwich Village, eat cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery, visit the 9/11 Museum and Memorial, bike to the Statue of Liberty, shop and dine at the Oculus, hang with stockbrokers on Wall Street.
Downtown is a bit quieter than the rest of the city. So if you like it quieter, the best place to stay in New York City is downtown.
Hotel Artezen is located in the heart of lower Manhattan. It is my pick for a modern, stunning, affordable hotel in NYC. Depending on your booking, it’s possible to get this hotel for under $100! It’s within walking distance of the 9/11 Memorial; the Westfield Mall World Trade has Eataly downtown–a vibrant Italian market with many cafes.
Another stunning hotel affordable hotel downtown Manhattan is the Club Quarters Hotel. Club Quarters Hotel Downtown at World Trade Center is set in Lower Manhattan, New York City.
The CQ location offers incredible views of One World Trade Center. There are views of the reflecting pool of the National September 11th Memorial. Nearby landmarks include Oculus shopping center and Tribeca Park, where there’s delicious food to try out!
New York City is the greatest city in the world. You can travel to New York City a million times and find something new to do each time.
